Launching of National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security

9 September 2025

The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is proud to be at the forefront as Malaysia marks a historic milestone with the launch of its first National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security (NAP WPS 2025–2030) by YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Developed through extensive consultations with ministries, government agencies, NGOs, academia and community stakeholders, and aligned with UNSCR 1325, the NAP provides a clear roadmap to protect, empower and strengthen women’s leadership in peace and security. This achievement reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to advancing the WPS agenda — nationally, in ASEAN and on the global stage.

Also present during the opening day were YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy binti Shukri, Minister of KPWKM; YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Deputy Minister of KPWKM; YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Maziah Che Yusoff, Secretary General of KPWKM; senior officials of KPWKM; as well as representatives from various ministries and agencies, Deputy Secretary Geneal for Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), representatives from various ASEAN sectoral bodies, civil societies, youth, women’s groups, academia, security sectors and international partners.
