ASEAN CONFERENCE ON THE NEW FRONTIERS IN THE CARE ECONOMY

The regional conference, The New Frontiers in the Care Economy Conference (CARECON) 2025, organised by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), officially commenced today in Kuala Lumpur.
The conference began with the launching ceremony of the Malaysia Care Strategic Framework and Action Plan 2026–2030 officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. The Strategic Framework serves as a key policy document by MWFCD, underscoring the Ministry’s role as the Lead Ministry for Long-Term Care in Malaysia.
With the theme “Exploring Models of Sustainable, Inclusive, Responsive and Equitable Care for ASEAN and the Region”, the conference gathers over 150 participants from ASEAN member states, government agencies, higher education institutions, the private sector, and international organisations.
CARECON 2025 serves as a significant platform to strengthen the regional care economy ecosystem and to position Malaysia as a regional hub for sustainable, inclusive and equitable care innovations and policies in line with the aspirations of Ekonomi MADANI and the 13th Malaysia Plan.
Also present were YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Dr. Maziah binti Che Yusof, Secretary General of KPWKM, Mr. Mohd Daud bin Mohd Arif, Deputy Secretary General (Strategic), heads of departments and agencies as well as KPWKM’s strategic partners.

Persidangan serantau The New Frontiers in the Care Economy Conference (CARECON) 2025 anjuran Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat (KPWKM) membuka tirai hari ini di Kuala Lumpur.
Persidangan ini bermula dengan Majlis Pelancaran Kerangka Strategik dan Pelan Tindakan Penjagaan di Malaysia 2026–2030 oleh YB Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat.
Kerangka Strategik ini merupakan dokumen yang dizahirkan oleh KPWKM sebagai sebuah Kementerian yang dipertanggungjawabkan sebagai Kementerian Peneraju Penjagaan Jangka Panjang.
Dengan tema “Exploring Models of Sustainable, Inclusive, Responsive and Equitable Care for ASEAN and the Region”, persidangan ini menghimpunkan lebih 150 peserta dari negara-negara ASEAN, agensi kerajaan, institusi pengajian tinggi, sektor swasta dan pertubuhan antarabangsa.
CARECON 2025 menjadi platform penting dalam memperkukuh ekosistem ekonomi penjagaan serantau serta mengangkat Malaysia sebagai hab serantau bagi inovasi dan dasar penjagaan yang mampan, inklusif dan saksama — seiring dengan aspirasi Ekonomi MADANI dan Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13.
Turut hadir Timbalan Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Ketua Setiausaha KPWKM, Datuk Dr. Maziah bintin Che Yusof, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Strategik), Encik Mohd Daud bin Mohd Arif, Ketua-Ketua Jabatan dan Agensi serta rakan-rakan strategik KPWKM.
