ASEAN + ROK Conference on Care and Support for Older Persons

The ASEAN + ROK Conference on Care and Support for Older Persons was held successfully from June 30th to July 1st, 2025 at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.
Over 100 participants from across ASEAN Member States (AMS), Timor Leste, and the Republic of Korea, alongside government agencies, academicians and local NGOs attended the conference. Experts from various organisations were invited to share their diverse insights, perspective and experiences in enhancing care and support systems for older persons.
The conference’s Key Recommendations are set to shape future initiatives, emphasizing:
- Dignity and Autonomy:
- Family- and Community-Centred Care;
- Intergenerational Equity and Inclusion;
- Innovation and Knowledge Exchange; and
- Multisectoral and Regional Cooperation
YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini binti Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, officiated the conference’s closing ceremony. Mr. Kwak Sunheon, Director-General for Bureau of Health Policy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of Korea, and Mr. Mohd Daud bin Mohd Arif, Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development were also in attendance.
